What is better than a Friday wedding update. Now that we have finally finalized all of our vendors I wanted to share them with you guys and let you know a little about our experience with them.

We chose to have our wedding venue at The Mackey House. The Mackey House is a large southern plantation home. It is in short my dream home. I love the southern homes with the big wrap around porches, big kitchens and wooden floors. But it is the way it lights up that is so dreamy. With lights wrapped around the trees, it becomes a fairy tale. We are so excited for the lights to dim and to get to exit our wedding with sparklers.
Our wedding cake is being made by Savannah Rum Runners Bakery. We decided to go with a smaller cake and cupcakes. We chose three different kinds of cakes and flavors, but you will have to wait until my wedding recap to get those details!
Picking the caterer was interesting. One thing that I really value is good customer service. Being responsive and flexible. And that includes being a little flexible for our budget. At the Mackey House they have three catering choices or you have to pay a retainer fee. Weddings are expensive enough, so we decided to go with Magnolia Grill. To our surprise we are so excited to be working with them. We chose a more casual menu, which I will tell you guys about in October!
For our DJ we originally had heard such good things about Dave at The Mackey House. But unfortunately again we simply couldn’t get in touch with him. It was honestly pretty disappointing, but we are glad in a sense. Our DJ and Director we chose Top Shelf Entertainment. Currently we are sorting through music for our ceremony and reception.
Our photographer is Madison Carter Photography. Kind of a last second decision, but after a phone call with her I knew she would be perfect for us. I like her more laid back approach. But more importantly she seemed really relatable and I can see I would be completely comfortable around her and in a photographer that is so so important.
It may come to a shock, but we decided to not book a florist. My mom is going to be putting together the bouquets and boutonnieres. The rest of the flowers we are just doing something simple as putting them in vases.
There are some lessons to be learned as we have picked our vendors and to be honest the main one is customer service. It can be stressful sometimes picking out the details of your wedding, but keeping under budget too. And having a vendor that is honest and responsive has proved to be so important for us.
