Guys Memorial Day is here and I could not be more excited about it. I am currently finishing up my work week in Savannah, and the second it is over Randy and I are heading out to Tybee to enjoy some time in the sun for some relaxation and to start my summer tan.
Today I wanted to share some last minute Memorial Day recipes, courtesy of the BGB Community. These are some of my favorites that I might just have to try out myself this Memorial Day. Linking up with Heather over at Life in Leggings today for Friday Favorites.
Running In A Skirt’s Watermelon Feta Blueberry Salad: I think the combination of feta cheese and fruit is delicious and with fruit coming into season I think this watermelon feta blueberry salad would be a great light and refreshing addition to your Memorial Day cookout.
Little Chef Big Appetite’s Grilled Romaine with Lemon and Parmesan: I always see grilled romaine on the food network during bbq’s but have yet to try it. The combination of lemon and parmesan sounds quite tasty. Just as Rachel put it this would be perfect along side of a juicy grilled steak!
Strength and Sunshine’s Grilled Plantains: I don’t know about you, but I love plantains. While I always go for the sweet kind of plantains I think these savory grilled plantains would be delicious and a hit at a cookout.
Little Bits of Real Food & Real Talk’s Lemon Garlic Grilled Potato Salad: I have never been a huge fan of the classic potato salads, but this Whole 30 variety using Tessamae’s lemon garlic sauce I think would be delicious and cut back on the heavy mayo taste.
My Honey Cinnamon Roasted Sweet Potatoes: These are an awesome option when your grill is loaded with meats. Stick them in the oven while you are tending to the grill. They are simple, easy and everyone loves them!
All Roads Lead To Healthy’s Grilled Pineapple BBQ Shrimp Kabob: All I had to hear was shrimp. Shrimp is one of my favorite cookout proteins, so when I saw this bbq shrimp kabob I knew I had to share it.
Emilie Eats Black Bean Quinoa Veggie Burgers: I am all for some animal protein but I think these are an awesome addition to your cookout for those families or friends that are vegetarians. I think they look so good I might even chose one over a piece of chicken!
Suzlyfe’s Piri Piri Spiced Turkey Burgers: When people think grilling out, not many think of Turkey Burgers, but I think these are a great low fat option. The spice on these sound delicious as well, and will definitely make your cookout stand out.
Healthy Helper Blog’s Hawaiian Tuna Burgers: I love that these burgers are gluten free and paleo. They also are so different from the typical cookout food. Why not spice it up this year!
Lean, Clean, & Brie’s Dairy Free Peanut Butter Brownies: Brownies are always a favorite for dessert with my family. Chocolate and peanut butter is my favorite combination so these really caught my eye. Plus gluten and dairy free you can’t beat that!
Hello Spoonful’s Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting: My boyfriend is a huge fan of carrot cake, so if you have any carrot cake lovers check out these healthified carrot cake cupcakes.
My Banana Cream Pie For Two: Yes this is only for two people unless you double, triple or quadruple the recipe, but for me this year with it just being Randy and I this is the perfect option when you are laying low this Memorial Day.
