Today I am sharing Friday favorites from the week. And now for a proper Friday introduction, “It’s Friday, Friday, Gotta Get Down on Friday” in the words of Rebecca Black. I remember listening to this song in high school. It is funny how the most annoying and repetitive things can become some of the most widespread known things. But this song is so on point for me.
I don’t know how the weather has been in your neck of the woods, but it has been like a roller coaster here. One second it is dark and rainy, next second it is sunny, and then all of a sudden it is thundering and lightening. So this weekend just in case Randy and I made plans to do something indoors. We will probably do a whole lot of nothing tonight, because movies and in bed by 10pm is a weekend routine for us. But Saturday we have plans to get some donuts and go rock climbing, because you can’t go rock climbing without the proper fuel right!?
With exciting plans in store today can not go fast enough, but before we get it started I wanted to share some of my favorites from this week. Linking up with Heather over at Life In Leggings for her Friday favorites link up. So after you enjoy mine, head on over to her site and check out what everyone else is loving this Friday.
Favorite recipes I can’t wait to try:
RachLmansfield’s Grain-Free Berry Crisp: For those of you paleo folks this is the perfect substitute for the traditional cobbler. But in my opinion I think her crumble made of nuts and almond flour could be way better than the real thing!
Avocado a day nutrition’s Scallion Cornbread Waffles with Spicy Chicken and Homemade Ranch: There is nothing better for brunch than chicken and waffles and this cornbread waffle took it to the next level. I also love that she included her own homemade ranch, because anymore ranch dressing takes so artificial to me.
Minimalist Baker’s Banana Cream Pie: Banana cream pie is one of my favorite desserts and I have been looking for a dairy free recipe for awhile and this one looks amazing. Not to mention it is vegan and the crust is gluten free!
The Almond Eater’s Simple Bacon Guacamole: I have really come to love avocados, and with avocados how can you not make guac! But a bacon guac, who could say no to that!
Some favorite meals of the week:
Mellow Mushroom Pizza on Saturday. We got a 10 inch pizza and it was just the perfect size for the two of us.
Lettuce Wrapped Burger with baked fries and cucumbers. I have really come to love lettuce wrapped burger, so much more than with a bun or slices of bread in my opinion.
Chocolate peanut butter banana cups. Can’t wait to share this with you guys, but these little things are the perfect summer treat.
Mashed sweet potato topped with chia seeds and coconut butter. I loved this breakfast and the obsession with sweet potatoes and coconut butter has begun.
Lemon Larabars. I love the flavor of them. It is so filling yet refreshing, but in all honesty lemon has been a favorite flavor of mine lately.
Goodbelly’s pomegranate blackberry probiotic drink. I haven’t used this enough to tell a difference digestively but it sure does taste amazing. I have been having a small glass each morning before breakfast.
