Today I wanted to do a little something different. I often get asked how I get motivated. How I get up in the morning to go workout, or how I eat healthy, or how I always have my meals prepped for the week.
I get asked a lot from those around me, how I live this healthy lifestyle. And how I keep it up. So today I wanted to give you a sneak peak into what my everyday looks like.
4:40 am: My alarm goes off. Lately I have been having more trouble than usual getting up in the morning. But I try to jump out of bed as best I can to get a start to the day.
5:00 am: Arrive at gym. Mondays are upper body days, Tuesday/Thursday are lower body days, Wednesday is ab day, Saturday is a flexible workout day, usually outdoor workouts or runs and Friday/Sundays are rest days.
6:15 am: Get home and start getting ready for work.
7:00 am: I start making my morning matcha green tea latte. Start by boiling water on the stove, in a separate cup add 1 teaspoon matcha, 3-4 drops of liquid stevia and about 1/4 cup almond milk. Stir, then with a milk frother I combine the milk and matcha together. Once my water is ready I pour on top, add milk frother and combine for a couple seconds and then add it to my sip by swell.
7:10 am: I take Benny out to use the bathroom.
7:20 am: I head out the door to drive to work.
7:45 am: I get to work, park and head to my desk. I have a standing desk at work so I like to keep standing for at least the first hour of my day.
8:00 am: I eat breakfast. Lately this has been two hard boiled eggs and some fruit or oats topped with coconut sugar. Slowly throughout my morning I sip on my matcha latte.
10:30 am: Sometimes I have a snack, today I had a small apple to hold me over until lunch time.
12:15 pm: I heat up my lunch. I meal prep each week and pack my lunch for work everyday. Not just for health reasons, but it also is a great way to save money from going out everyday. I love to pack something to keep me full but not too full so I don’t get sleepy from lunch. Lately I have been enjoying 1/2 cup long grain brown rice with some ground turkey, veggies and coconut aminos.
2:45-3pm: Somewhere around here I have a snack. Today it was 2:45 and I had some chia seed pudding with blueberries mixed in. Combine 25 grams of chia seeds and add about 1/4-1/3 cup almond milk. Mix and place in fridge overnight. It is a great and filling snack.
4 pm: Time to head home. I always make sure I have some water in the car with me. It is a good way to make sure you are staying hydrated by always having one with you.
4:30 pm: I get home, get changed and then take Benny out when I get home. I usually then start to work on the blog. This day I worked on getting my post for Wednesday ready to go. Created my pinterest pin for the Paleo Wrap Recipe Round Up through Pic Monkey, and finished with adding SEO information to the post.
5:00: I start on making dinner. I usually don’t meal prep my dinner, but sometimes I have some leftovers from my meal prepping on Sunday. I love to make quick and easy dinners, and one of my favorites right now is my Italian Lettuce Wrapped Sub, with a side of homemade fries to go with it.
5:30 – 6:30 pm: I work on some freelance work that I have going on.
6:30 pm: I have been loving the Silver Comet Trail in Atlanta, so I grab Benny and we head on over for a 30-45 minute walk.
7:45 pm: We head home. It has been so hot I take a quick shower before getting ready for bed. I have been loving this facewash idea I got off of pinterest. I combined baking soda, coconut oil, peppermint oil and rose hip seed oil for my face wash. Then I heat a towel in the sink with steaming hot water, squeeze the excess out and steam my face with the wash cloth for a couple minutes. Then wash the face wash off and apply some lotion. It has cleared my face up wonderfully.
8:00pm: I finish getting ready for bed and then browse the web some.
8:30 pm: I call Randy. We like to talk before we go to bed so we chat for a half hour or so.
9:15 pm: I get off the phone and head to bed.
